Soulive is a Japanese brand that finds it's inspiration in traditional crafts and designs from all over the world!
These wide pants finds its inspiration in traditional Japanese apparel, shaped to be comfortable and easy to wear. They are made out of an indigo dyed ripstop cotton fabric, a thin cloth that has a thicker thread woven in regular intervals so that a grid pattern is formed. The result is more tear-resistant compared to an ordinary smooth fabric. This kind of fabric has a history of being used in outdoor apparel such as sleeping bags, tents and thinner wind protective pants and jackets and it is also common in military contexts for the same reason.
These pants have a super long crotch, so you can wear them very high up or in a more slouchy style depending of your preference. They have a wraparound construction, and close up with buttons at the waist. The width can be adjusted using cloth straps that can be tied either at the front as Kerstin did, or at the side like Douglas did in the pictures.
